Summer Reading Program Party!

Jul 29, 2024, 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Join us in celebrating those who have finished their summer reading bingo sheets! We will have a bounce house/water slide for kids, yard games, Wes the Balloon Guy, tie dye, sno cones, and pizza from T.J.'s! Bingo sheets must be returned by Monday, July 15th.

*We ask that parents/responsible guardians chaperone their children for this event. There will be a rain date of Monday, August 5th. Please contact us with any questions.

Kid Program: Rockin' Reptiles & Awesome Amphibians with the National Mississippi River Museum

The National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium will be visiting during this special Wednesday Kid Program! Become a herpetologist and explore the world of reptiles and amphibians! Learn about some of their amazing adaptations and the important roles they play in nature. Live animals will stop by to help us learn!

This is a FREE event open to all ages. Children under 8 must be accompanied by a responsible guardian 12+. Thank you to the Community Foundation of Cedar County for funding this event!

Yoga at the Park

Free to attend! Join us in practicing yoga at Bennett City Park; led by Mrs. Marcie. Bring a yoga mat or towel. Learn some beginner poses and mindfulness in this laid back class for kids & their parents/guardians. All are welcome! Funded by the Community Foundation of Cedar County. Thank you!

Join us for book chat for adults only. We will be discussing "Local Woman Missing" by Mary Kubica. We will have several copies of the book available via interlibrary loan. Contact us for your copy today.

Since everyone has their own perspective, book chat allows for a healthy discussion in an open and friendly environment. We also discuss what else everyone has read over the last month, which gives us more ideas about what we might like to read going forward. Join us for good company, conversation, snacks, and laughs

Ocean Odyssey with the National Mississippi River Museum

We are ending our summer activities with a bang here at the Bennett Public Library! Come see a travelling touch tank that brings live ocean animals right to you. The National Mississippi River Museum will be breaking down some of the common misconceptions about sharks. They will highlight adaptations these critters have to survive, their importance to the ecosystem and discover how you can help with conservation efforts. Participants will have the opportunity to get their hands wet and touch one of these amazing animals!
